For some reason, dell has abandoned debian since the 8 version (jessie).

No one knows why, but don't despair, there is a solution: install it for ubuntu!

Yup since ubuntu is a frozen debian, it should be possible to install omsa from there.

Let's see how:

1) Install dell ubuntu based repository

$ echo 'deb bionic main' | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

2) Get and install gpg keys for it $ wget

$ apt-key add 0x1285491434D8786F.asc

3) $ apt update

4) Install missing dependancies: wget wget wget wget wget wget wget wget wget wget

dpkg -i libwsman-curl-client-transport1_2.6.5-0ubuntu3_amd64.deb dpkg -i libwsman-client4_2.6.5-0ubuntu3_amd64.deb dpkg -i libwsman1_2.6.5-0ubuntu3_amd64.deb dpkg -i libwsman-server1_2.6.5-0ubuntu3_amd64.deb dpkg -i libcimcclient0_2.2.8-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb dpkg -i openwsman_2.6.5-0ubuntu3_amd64.deb dpkg -i cim-schema_2.48.0-0ubuntu1_all.deb dpkg -i libsfcutil0_1.0.1-0ubuntu4_amd64.deb dpkg -i sfcb_1.4.9-0ubuntu5_amd64.deb dpkg -i libcmpicppimpl0_2.0.3-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb

5) Install these packages to avoid errors and for oemreport

$ apt install libncurses5 libcurl4-openssl-dev

6) Install omsa

$ apt install srvadmin-all

7) Tell omsa to not check our servers generation: $ touch /opt/dell/srvadmin/lib64/openmanage/IGNORE_GENERATION

8) Test command to retrieve your physical disk info: $ /opt/dell/srvadmin/bin/omreport storage pdisk controller=0

If all went smooth you will see a list of the physical disks attached to your controller!
